It is almost mid-January. As of right now I am currently working on tweaking and correcting things about my app before I send the finished product to Mason, however, I have been having to redesign my work on Sketch rather than Figma. And, as mentioned in my previous blog, my goal is to have my product done by mid-January. And for once, throughout this entire process, I actually feel like I can accomplish that goal in a comfortable manner.
Essentially, what I am doing right now is redesigning and updating my app designs onto Sketch. The reason I decided to make the switch from Figma to Sketch is because Sketch is a million times easier to work with and I feel that I can actually create with Sketch versus feeling incredibly limited and unmotivated when working with Figma. So, throughout the process of developing this app I have gone through three different design platforms and, thankfully, I have finally found one that I am completely comfortable with. The way I am going about designing and retouching elements of this app is through first sketching them onto a designated notebook, then easily transporting my ideas onto Sketch and testing them out. I feel like I am finally having fun with this project and that it does not seem like a daunting assignment for a class.
Needless to say, I am actually very comfortable in the stage that I am at right now with my blog and am currently meeting with more professionals to gain a better sense on what to focus on as well as their perspectives about UX. For my next blog, I plan on having at least three more pages completed to my design and will have a few minor bugs such as colors, fonts, and re-looking button placement corrected. Hopefully within the next three blogs, I will be able to confidently say that I have handed my designs to Mason and we will begin the next phase of app development.
